About the Course
Do you have questions about service animals? You are not alone! Service animals can raise many important questions - from understanding what qualifies as a service animal, to the laws that protect them, the difference between service and support animals, and the rights of individuals versus organizations. Our Service Animal Awareness training provides clear, practical answers to all of these questions. Whether you’re an educator, staff member, or community professional, this training will give you the knowledge and confidence to handle service animal situations correctly and inclusively. Meet Your Instructor, Dane Johnson
Dane Johnson is RAMP’s systems change advocate, a position he has held since 2024. He is responsible for coordinating RAMP’s advocacy efforts through a variety of job functions, all with the common goal of improving system-wide accessibility in the communities RAMP serves. Dane serves on a range of advocacy committees that provide him with calls to action from the disability community to support disability-friendly policy. Dane also fights for accessibility at the local level by helping consumers resolve inaccessibility, including filing formal ADA complaints against noncompliant businesses and organizations, and writes distributable informational materials, delivers educational presentations, and conducts on-site accessibility assessments.
